Here are a few questions and answers designed to clear up any uncertainties that might come between you and the treatments your oral health deserves.
Is there any such thing as a silly question?
A: It's understandable that no-one wants to open their mouth and put their foot in it. Remember, when you're establishing a relationship with your dentist, there's no better way to guide your treatment than to ask direct questions about the treatment being planned. So rest assured. There's no such thing as a silly question. And don't be embarrassed to ask.
Will the procedure hurt?
A: It's probably the most asked question dentists hear. Truth is, the most pain you're likely to experience is the pain you imagine while you wait.
You can relax. When needed, Trower Dental offers the full range of local anaesthetics and sedations. And if you don't like needles you can try our needleless injection system. We can also offer sedation with nitrous oxide, I.V. sedation or general anaesthetic with a specialist anaesthetist. And finally, for those who prefer mind-over-matter to conventional means, you can even try the power of suggestion. Trower Dental now has a qualified hypnotherapist.
What if I suffer from anxiety?...which I don't!
A: Often anxiety is simply a fear of the unknown. So we take care to explain, reassure and take time for everyone to relax. However, if anxiety does persist, we can offer a range of assistance. In particular, anxiety is one instance where hypnosis can be a great help and, as previously said, we have a qualified hypnotherapist on site.
How qualified are our dentists?
A: Strangely, this is a question we rarely hear. It should be the first question any new patient asks. And happily, it's a question we can answer...with no hesitation. All of our dentists are registered, experienced and Australian trained with ADA membership and maintain continuous further education in the full range of areas. And that's an answer we're really proud to give.
Will the bill hurt?
A: Unfortunately, there is no anaesthetic for the discomfort of unanticipated expenditure. The best we can do, and this is an area where we really do try our best, is ensure you don't have any unanticipated costs after the event. As your treatment is planned, and before treatment begins, accurate detailed cost estimates are always offered and agreed. That said, the costs of new technologies are not cheap, but the best technology does give the best results. So we don't skimp on it. But, we have made our pricing very competitive and again... we always give quotes.
To make payment as comfortable as possible you can use your Health Fund on site and we also offer a variety of payment options. Just ask.
